Competition Team 2011-2012

Elite Dance Academy is pleased to announce the audition date for all students (including current team members) who hope to become accepted onto the Elite Dance Academy Competition Team for the 2011-2012 season. Auditions are open to those aged 7 years old and over.

AUDITION DATE: SATURDAY, AUGUST 13th, 2011
AUDITION TIMES: 12 YEARS OLD AND UNDER

  • 10:00-10:30: Ballet
  • 10:30-11:00: Lyrical
  • 11:00-11:30: Jazz
  • 11:30-12:00: Hip-Hop

AUDITION TIMES: 13 YEARS OLD AND OVER

  • 12:00-12:30: Hip-Hop
  • 12:30-1:00: Hip-Hop Fusion
  • 1:00-1:30: Lyrical
  • 1:30-2:00: Jazz
  • 2:00-2:30: Ballet

* Auditions for competitive Solos, Duos and Trios will take place the same day during the regular audition.

All students planning to participate in the Competition Team Auditions should formally notify us by email so that we can send you an official audition registration form. Auditions are free of charge, and students will be taught a short choreography and present it in groups. There will be no “solo” presentations made. Please note that students outside the Elite community are welcome.

Competition Team Class Pricing

  • Four Teams: $1,310.00 + Taxes
  • Three Teams: $1,100.00 + Taxes
  • Two Teams: $890.00 + Taxes
  • One Team: $490.00 + Taxes

* All prices include registration and administration fees.

* Should your child be accepted as a soloist or as part of a duo/trio, additional training fees will apply.

* All competitive students are required to take an additional class/classes other than their competitive team class. Individualized training programs can be put together at time of registration.

Competition Fees

This year, the team will attend three to four competitions. Three will be regional, and one will be out of town. Exact location will be determined once competition schedules are released (usually in early October.) Please note that competition season usually takes place between March and May.

  • Regional Competition #1: Approx. $40.00
  • Regional Competition #2: Approx. $40.00
  • Regional Competition #3: Approx. $40.00
  • Out of town competition: Approx. $45.00

When attending regional competitions, students will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the event. For out of town competitions, car pools can be arranged for students with parents who do not wish to attend. No transportation/bus fees will be charged for any competitions. When attending an out of town competition, families will be responsible for booking their own hotel arrangements.

Uniform/Costume Fees

  • Track Suit: $130.00 (The Competition Team Track Suit is a high quality garment ordered from the U.S. It features our school colors, our school name and logo as well as the first name of the student. Track Suits help to enhance the professional image of a school at all events.)
  • Shoes: Competitive students will be required to purchase identical footwear in the style of dance of their team/teams.
  • Costume Fee: Competition students are required to purchase a costume that they will use for all competitions and the year-end recital.
  • Competition Team Duffel Bag: $30.00 (Optional, but very handy and professional.)

Fundraising Activities

  • MAXI Bagging Fundraiser: Competition students will once again participate in this awesome fundraiser that raised nearly $3,000 in one weekend last year.
  • Spaghetti Dinner/Christmas Party: Details about this exciting fundraiser are to come.
